Dogweek exists to settle one question: whose turn is it to walk the dog? To do that, we need a little bit of your data. This page explains exactly what we collect, why, where it lives, and how to make it all disappear. No fine print tricks — we promise.
The short version: we collect only what the app needs to work, we store it securely in the EU, we share it with nobody, and you can delete everything yourself, instantly, from inside the app.
What we collect
When you use Dogweek, we collect and store:
- Your email address and name — so you can sign in and your family knows who's who on the schedule.
- Your dog's profile — name, breed, photo, and any details you add. (Yes, we know this is the most important data we hold.)
- Walk data — GPS routes, distance, duration, and timestamps of walks you record.
- Your profile photo — if you choose to add one.
- A push notification token — so we can send you reminders like "it's your turn at 6pm."
That's the whole list. We don't collect your contacts, your browsing history, or anything else from your device.
Why we collect it
One reason: to run your family's shared walk schedule and show you your walk history and stats. Your name and email identify you to your own family group. Walk data powers the routes, streaks, and stats you see in the app. The push token lets us remind whoever's turn it is. We don't use your data for anything else — no profiling, no marketing lists, no "personalized offers."
Where your data is stored
All your data is stored with Supabase, our database provider, in a data center located in the European Union. All data is encrypted in transit between your phone and our servers.
Who we share it with
Nobody. We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. Your data is visible only to you and the family members you invite to your own Dogweek group.
Location data
Dogweek uses your location only while a walk is actively being recorded, to draw your route and measure distance. We never track your location in the background, and we never access it when a walk isn't running. You can always decline location access — the schedule and reminders work fine without it; you just won't get route maps.
Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings inside the app. Deletion is immediate and permanent — your profile, your walks, your photos, and your dog's profile are all removed, and there's no recovery window. No emails to write, no forms to fill in, no "are you sure?" retention tricks.
Children
Dogweek is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page and let you know in the app before the change takes effect.
